In 2013, the GROB group of companies, a leading manufacturer of machining centres, headquartered in Mindelheim, initiated an extensive programme to optimise production processes.

Given a 300 % increase of goods movements in only two years, the efficiency increase of internal logistics is a central aspect for the company, which employs 4,500 people. Here in particular an intelligent concept had to be found to process the modules, delivered from pre-assembly lines, on the area available in final assembly. Following an extensive search of the market, 4Dflexiplat caught the GROB Group's attention. They were very quick to recognise the advantages that 4Dflexiplat offers in practical application.

They decided to introduce 4Dflexiplat. Subsequently, the time processing and final assembly at GROB improved sustainably. The return on investment thus generated is complemented by the high flexibility of the transportation platform, which can be disassembled or modified when the product life cycle is completed.
Ever since the new transportation platforms were introduced, value-adding processes have once again become the focus of final assembly, instead of the searching for and sorting of material. For workers, there is the additional benefit that transport of material takes place at working height, so that 4Dflexiplat also contributes significantly to back-friendly and ergonomic working conditions.
